The Core opened its doors in November 2014, marking the introduction of Newcastle Helix as a new quarter in Newcastle's city center. Now home to a multitude of innovative businesses working on various future city themes, The Core has been accompanied by several new buildings of national significance. It is a special place for research and business growth.

The first state-of-the-art building on the former brewery site was created in collaboration with architects Faulkner Browns Architects, the main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, and multi-functional space experts Creative Space Management. We aimed to deliver a high-level FF&E specification to all areas, including communal spaces, breakout zones, flexible event areas, and office furniture that tenants could reconfigure as needed. Additionally, we provided office and seminar spaces for Newcastle University.
